The MSL 2019 Final is going to be played between the Paarl Rocks and the Tshwane Spartans, two of the best team this season. We don’t think anyone is going to grudge these teams a place in the finals at all. Paarl Rocks qualified straight for the final thanks to topping the Mzansi Super League group stage while the Tshwane Spartans had to beat the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants in the Eliminator.
The venue for this match is Paarl, which has had the most enthusiastic crowds this season, and we are happy to say first up that no rain is forecast for this match!
Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers will go head to head in a bid to crown their team the T20 champions of South Africa.

Paarl Rocks
That the Paarl rocks have been able to make it to the final of MSL 2019 is a major achievement in itself. The side lost Dwaine Pretorius, JP Duminy, and Aiden Markram from their side even before the tournament started.
They are also going to be missing James Vince for the MSL final since he has departed for the Big Bash League in Australia.
That means that the onus of getting the runs is going to fall on Henry Davids, Faf du Plessis, and Kyle Verreynne. Not having James Vince is a big blow to the chances of the Rocks. He was their highest run-getter so far and provided the stability in the middle.
The depth in the batting is a big question mark and a couple of early wickets could derail things for the Paarl Rocks.
The bowling is in a much better state, though, Bjorn Fortuin and Tabraiz Shamsi have been spectacular for the Paarl Rocks in MSL 2019. While Bjorn Fortuin bowls in the powerplay and keeps the runs tight, Tabraiz Shamsi comes in the middle and looks for wickets only.
Having Faf du Plessis as a captain is also a big advantage since he understands his spinners very well.
Ferisco Adams is in good touch and Isuru Udana has had a couple of good games as well. All of these players will need to be at their best to be able to stop a strong Tshwane Spartans team.

The Tshwane Spartans are also going to be missing Tom Curran for the MSL final but they did not have him for the Eliminator either, so it is not a big deal for them. The Tshwane Spartans are going to come into this game with a lot of confidence.
Their batting is in excellent form and has performed consistently through the entire Mzansi Super League.
Dean Elgar, Tony de Zorzi, AB de Villiers, Heinrich Klaasen, Petrus van Biljon, and David Wiese are all very good with the bat. Roelof van der Merwe can also handle the bat pretty well and score some useful runs when needed.
AB de Villiers is the obvious big fish in this match. He has been playing very well and we expect to see the best of him in this match. For a man of AB de Villiers talent and achievements, he does not have too many tournament victories to his name. He would love to help the Spartans win the title.
We definitely think the Tshwane Spartans have the advantage when it comes to the batting.
Morne Morkel will lead the bowling attack with support from Roelof van der Merwe, David Wiese, Corbin Borsche, and Imran Manack. Paar is a good batting surface and the Tshwane Spartans bowling attack certainly has some weaknesses to be exploited.
This is one area where the Tshwane Spartans will need to have clear plans and be able to execute them on the night.
