PC vs DSG Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Feb 05, 2023
The Pretoria Capitals were the team that was setting the pace in SA 20 2023 before the break and it sits quite comfortably at the top of the standings. Five wins out of seven matches played have given it an excellent chance of qualifying for the inaugural SA 20 playoffs.
The other team in this contest is the Durban Super Giants. Just three wins from nine matches mean that DSG is second from the bottom of the standings. We think it needs to win its last remaining game and then hope for a couple of miracles to have any chance of qualifying.
Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Pretoria Capitals vs Durban Super Giants SA 20 2023. The match will be played at SuperSport Park, Centurion on the 5th of February 2023.
PC vs DSG Team Previews
The Pretoria Capitals will be without Will Jacks for the final part of SA 20 because he has been called up for international duty. That is a big loss although the return of Phil Salt into the squad should help balance out the team a bit.
Without Jacks, the onus of scoring runs will fall on the likes of Kusal Mendis, Rilee Rossouw, and Theunis de Bruyn. Neither of these players has really made a big score although all of them have played with intent and have good strike rates.
Senuram Muthusamy, Wayne Parnell, and Jimmy Neesham add some depth to the batting lineup as well as some important six-hitting power.
As impressive as the batting has been the bowling lineup for the Pretoria Capitals. Anrich Nortje has been picking up wickets with ease and is very well supported by Wayne Parnell, Eathan Bosch, and Adil Rashid. The fifth bowler's quota from Jimmy Neesham can be a bit tricky since he tends to go for a lot of runs.
Pretoria Capitals Playing 11
Philip Salt, Kusal Mendis, Theunis de Bruyn, Rilee Rossouw, Colin Ingram, James Neesham, Senuran Muthusamy, Migael Pretorius, Eathan Bosch, Daryn Dupavillon, Joshua Little.
Durban Super Giants
DSG would have been devastated that rain prevented it from gaining the maximum points available in the previous match against Sunrisers Eastern Cape. It can only finish on a maximum of four wins, something that the four teams above it already have. With a poor net run rate, there is almost no chance of DSG qualifying for the playoffs.
The break has allowed DSG to add Ben Mc Dermott to its lineup, an excellent choice that adds some firepower at the top. He replaces Kyle Mayers who also used to bowl the odd over for DSG so that may be a bit of a loss.
With Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen in excellent form, DSG has a stronger batting lineup than it first appears. David Willey, Keemo Paul, and Dwaine Pretorius are all good strikers of the ball as well. Reece Topley and David Willey will lead the bowling lineup with support from Keshav Maharaj, Simon Harmer, and Keemo Paul.
We think the bowling lineup is a bit thin and can be put under pressure.
Durban Super Giants Playing 11
Ben McDermott, Quinton de Kock, Matthew Breetzke, Keemo Paul, Heinrich Klaasen, Wiaan Mulder, Dwaine Pretorius, David Willey, Keshav Maharaj, Junior Dala, Reece Topley.

Pitch and Conditions
There has been a fair bit of rain in Centurion over the last few days but it looks like the weather should be quite good on match day. The chances of rain are quite low and we should not have any interruptions. The pitch is excellent for batting and quite high-scoring. That could be a bit of an advantage for DSG heading into this match.
PC vs DSG Betting Tips
This contest is going to be decided between the Pretoria Capitals bowling and the DSG batting. Without Jacks, the Pretoria Capitals are just slightly underpowered in the batting department and that could be vital. However, we do rate the bowling attack of the Capitals very highly and think it should be able to help them to another win this contest.
Bet on the Pretoria Capitals to win.
