OMN vs NEP Match Prediction - Oct 10, 2019

A win for Ireland in the Pentangular T20I tournament has set up the ladder beautifully. Nepal, Oman, and Ireland are all still in contention to finish at the top of the table, and the remaining fixtures carry significant importance for all the three sides in the discussion. Oman still have only one match to go, and a win in their next game would put them in a sweet spot, as far as topping the ladder is concerned. They are set to face Nepal in the upcoming encounter, which is to be played on 10th October at Al Amarat.

OMN vs NEP Team Previews

Oman continued to build on their superb show in the series as well as in the international cricket as they defeated Netherlands in their most recent encounter of this T20I tournament. They are right behind Ireland at the ladder, at the second spot, with three wins to their name in as many matches.

In recent months, Oman have only grown in stature in limited-overs cricket. They defeated Scotland in an ODI game just around a month ago and followed it up with a win over Ireland in the ongoing series. While their upcoming assignment against Nepal is not going to be easy, they will undoubtedly be a confident bunch of players to pull off a win here so as to move to the top of the table.

Oman posted a superb win in their most recent encounter of the series, against the Netherlands, as they restricted the European side for a total of just 94 before their batsmen chased it down with considerable ease.

Oman Playing 11

Suraj Kumar, Naseem Khushi, Sandeep Goud, Mehran Khan, Zeeshan Maqsood, Aaqib Sulehri, Khawar Ali, Aamir Kaleem, Bilal Khan, Fayyaz Butt, Mohammad Nadeem.

Unlike Oman, who have relied mostly on the contribution from all the players, Nepal have appeared to be a bit to be over-reliant on a couple of their bowlers. Karan KC has been in stupendous bowling form and has picked up nine wickets at an astonishing average of 10.11 in just three matches.

Their batting, however, hasn't done anything substantial, which was also the reason for their loss against Ireland in their most recent encounter. Their bowlers did exceedingly well to restrict potent Irish batting lineup to just 145 for 8, but lack of application from their top-order batsmen left them tottering at the halfway stage.

Nepal have won two matches out of a total of three played and a win here, unless it is a huge one, won't make a difference to their standings at the ladder. They are currently placed at the third spot and are likely to stay there regardless of the result. Having said that, they'd still be itching to go out and get a win in their final match of the tournament.

Nepal Playing 11

B Bhandari, Paras Khadka, Dipendra Singh Airee, Aarif Sheikh, Sundeep Jora, Ishan Pandey, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Sandeep Lamichhane, Sushan Bhari, Abinash Bohara.

OMN vs NEP Betting Tips

This series has been tightly fought between Ireland, Nepal, and Oman, and the points table reflects that. Oman have been the standout team of the season, and another win here would put them to the top of the ladder, ahead of Ireland. Nepal, on the other hand, would need a massive success to get into the top two sides of the tournament, which looks unlikely in all probability. Comparing the two sides on-paper and as per the performance in the tournament so far, Oman are firm favorites to emerge winners in the upcoming fixture.
