Losses to Nepal and now Oman would have dented the confidence of the Netherlands side massively. Even taking the loss of Ben Cooper from the batting order into account, Netherlands would be worried about its chances heading into the T20 World Cup Qualifiers.
The Netherlands batting has looked very poor. Not a single batsman has been able to stamp his authority on the match. The top-order batsmen have got starts in almost all the matches but they have not converted them into big scores.
Hong Kong’s bowling is among the weakest in the tournament and so this is another opportunity for the Netherlands batsmen to make amends.
Max O Dowd, Tobias Visee, and Colin Ackerman should be able to perform better in this match.
Not having enough runs to defend has hurt the Netherlands bowlers but overall Roelof van der Merwe, Fred Klaassen, and Paul van Meekeren have not been too bad.

Hong Kong’s batsmen put up its best performance so far against Ireland but it was in reply to the highest score of the tournament and so just was not enough. Hong Kong’s bowlers have suffered the most in the tournament and have the worst economy rate.
They will be hoping for a better performance against the Netherlands batting lineup which has struggled against every single side.
Ehsan Khan, Kinchit Shah, and Kyle Christie are the three best bowlers for Hong Kong.
Haroon Arshad and Ehsan Khan made some decent contributions in the previous match but the match had already been lost by then. Hong Kong’s batting has been very poor and there seems to be a lack of quality in the lineup.
Nizakat Khan, Waqas Barkat, and Kinchit Shah were the batsmen that were expected to make the most runs for Hong Kong.
This is as good a chance for them to hit form ahead of the T20 World Cup Qualifiers.

Plenty of heat, a flat batting pitch that does not change much, and no chance of rain are what the players can expect in this match.
