MCA vs SRT Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Nov 01, 2022
The pre-quarterfinals of the ongoing season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy are now over, and we have a clear picture of which teams have made it to the quarterfinal stage. One of the most awaited battles of this stage will take place on Tuesday, as Mumbai takes on Saurashtra.
While Mumbai remains the favorite to win this one, the recent form of the Saurashtra team means that we have an engaging encounter on our hands.
MCA vs SRT Team Previews
Mumbai has been in excellent form throughout the league stage, losing just 1 of its 7 fixtures. As a result, they comfortably finished at the top of Group A and booked a direct spot into the quarterfinals.
Mumbai’s winning spree was propelled by its excellent batting, especially at the top of the order. Prithvi Shaw is in great form and went on to score his maiden T20 century this season. He is also the top-scorer for his team so far, with 285 runs. He has received good support from Yashasvi Jaiswal. Shivam Dube and Sarfaraz Khan too have chipped in.
Shams Mulani and Tushar Deshpande will once again spearhead the bowling. Dhawal Kulkarni, who has been absent in the last couple of matches, hasn’t been in great form, picking up just 4 wickets from his 5 appearances.<br />
Mumbai Playing 11
Aman Khan, Ajinkya Rahane, Mohit Avasthi, Prithvi Shaw, Sarfaraz Khan, Shivam Dube, Sairaj Patil, Shreyas Iyer, Shams Mulani, Tushar Deshpande, Tanush Kotian, Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Saurashtra had to take the longer route to the quarterfinals. Finishing 3rd in Group D, it faced Kerala in the pre-quarterfinals. Batting first, Saurashtra put up 183 runs on the board, thanks to an excellent inning of 64 by Sheldon Jackson. Kerala came achingly close to the target, but Saurashtra bowlers ensured that the opposition didn’t reach the target, helping their team win by 9 runs.
Samarth Vyas is in incredible form and has scored 300 runs so far at an average of 61. He has been supported well by Cheteshwar Pujara and Jackson. The bowling however hasn’t been consistent and has often failed to put the required pressure on the opposition.
Jaydev Unadkat is the top wicket-taker for his team, with 9 wickets. However, with Chetan Sakariya back in the squad, we can expect a better performance in the knockout stages.
Saurashtra Playing 11
Jay Gohil, Kushang Patel, Sheldon Jackson, Chirag Jani, Chetan Sakariya, Cheteshwar Pujara, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, Harvik Desai, Jaydev Unadkat, Prerak Mankad, Samarth Vyas, Vishvaraj Jadeja.
MCA vs SRT Toss Prediction
The winner of the toss will like to bowl first as the teams batting second have historically fared better here.

Pitch and Conditions
The pitch at Eden Gardens is known to be good for batting, and we can expect to see some shots being played. However, the spinners will enjoy bowling here as the pitch offers a good turn. Since this is a Day/Night match, we might see dew later on in the game, making it difficult for the bowlers to grip the ball. A score of more than 150 will be difficult to chase here. The weather is expected to be sunny with a minimum chance of rain.
MCA vs SRT Betting Tips
We are backing Mumbai to win this one. Their batsmen are in good form and will find it easy to score against the Saurashtra bowlers, who haven’t been performing great. The Mumbai batting line-up has a lot of depth and is better balanced team.
Bet on a Mumbai win.
