With just a 5-7 record and little possibility of making the quarterfinals, Sussex's T20 Blast season has been somewhat unimpressive. They now hold the seventh spot in the South Group table, but they've been better than Gloucestershire and Middlesex at least!
After a dismal start to the season that included five straight defeats, Kent managed to recover and go on a huge six-game winning streak. One of those victories was a tense struggle versus Hampshire, which proves how good they really are. It's strange that Kent is only fourth on the table, but Hampshire, Surrey, and Somerset are the ones to beat.

KENT vs SUS Team Previews
Kent
The top three batters for Kent are still Bell-Drummond (587 runs), Denly (365 runs), and Muyeye (283 runs), and it's good to see that really either one can save the team on their own. Most of the praise for the wins has to go to Bell-Drummond, who is the leading run-scorer in the league and is on a run frenzy. He's made big scores recently of 111, 69*, 38, and 56*. He needs to keep up this momentum with considerable help from Denly and Muyeye, and Kent will be a scary opponent in the quarter-finals.
Hogan (21/399) and Stewart (20/347) are consistently dependable in almost every game, in fact, Hogan was brilliant in a recent game against Sussex with 4/31. There's a bit of a drop-off after these two, and this could cause problems later on with too much burden on Hogan and Stewart, but hopefully Linde makes some more strides with his progress.

Sussex
Even though Sussex has won three of their past five games and has played considerably better recently, their current 5-7 record won't help them reach the knockout round. Khan (222) and Clark (247) have both had some strong outings and have contributed to the majority of the scoring. Still, Bopara's 288 runs have been critical and he's been a great leader, despite only scoring 15 runs in his last two matches.
Sussex’s bowling has improved, mostly thanks to Mills (13/328) and Khan (11/280), but it’s likely to be too little, too late, as the end of the season is looming. The pick-up of Karvelas is exciting, as in only five innings he’s earned 8/137 (including one great effort of 4/20).
