INDM vs WG Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Mar 15, 2023
The World Giants will be looking to get back to winning ways as they face the India Maharajas for a second time in the current season of the Legends League cricket in Doha.
In their previous encounter, the Giants defeated the Maharajas by a narrow margin of 2 runs. Given the form of both teams at the moment, we can surely expect another close match here.
INDM vs WG Team Previews
After losing their first two matches of the season, the India Maharajas have finally managed to register their first win by defeating the Asia Lions by 10 wickets.
Gautam Gambhir was once again in excellent form, scoring his third consecutive half-century. Robin Uthappa was seen struggling in the first two matches but he too returned to form, scoring a brilliant 88 of just 39 deliveries as the openers chased down the target of 158 runs in just over 12 overs.
This win will help the Maharajas regain some of their lost confidence and they will take the field with a positive frame of mind. However, the form of the middle-order batsmen will remain a cause of concern for them as Suresh Raina, Yusuf Pathan, and Stuart Binny haven’t been able to get going after the bowlers. The team will depend on Irfan Pathan and Ashok Dinda to give them a good start with the new ball. But as the pitch slows down, the spinners will be shouldering the wicket-taking responsibilities.
Harbhajan Singh is the most successful bowler for the Maharajas so far and has picked up wickets in the last 2 games. Pravin Tambe was among the wickets too but was quite expensive.
India Maharajas Playing 11
Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Mohammad Kaif, Pravin Tambe, Ashok Dinda, Suresh Raina, RV Uthappa, Manvinder Bisla, Reetinder Sodhi, Stuart Binny.
The World Giants has the strongest batting line-up among the 3 teams in this tournament and the team will be banking on them to give a good start here.
Chris Gayle fell cheaply against the Maharajas last week but did manage to get some runs under his belt on Monday as he scored 23 runs in a rain-curtailed match. Shane Watson and Aaron Finch scored brilliant half-centuries in the earlier fixture and will be hoping to put up a similar performance here.
However, the form of Ross Taylor and Kevin O’Brien remains a cause of concern for the team. Both are extremely talented and can hit the ball out of the park at will, but they have failed to produce the fireworks expected from them. Talking about the bowling, the team will be heavily reliant on its spinners on the slow wickets at Doha.
Ricardo Powell is likely to play an important role here as he is the most experienced spinner in the squad. He has picked up wickets in both of his matches so far and will be looking to continue with his good run. Monty Panesar is another experienced campaigner in the team but has enjoyed limited success till now.
The quicker bowlers including Brett Lee and Tino Best have been a bit underwhelming.

Pitch and Conditions
The surface at the West End Park Stadium in Doha is balanced and offers equal opportunities to the batsmen as well as the bowlers. The average first-inning score here is around 160 which is a par score. The quicker bowlers are likely to struggle a bit but the slower bowlers will get some turn here, especially in the second innings. The weather is expected to remain cloudy with temperatures remaining around the 25-degree mark.
INDM vs WG Betting Tips
While the India Maharajas did win their last encounter, we think that they will find it difficult to produce a similar outcome from this match. The world Giants have a strong batting line-up with powerful hitters like Chris Gayle. On the other hand, the runs for the Maharajas have been predominantly scored by the top order and the other batsmen have struggled.
Bet on the World Giants to win.
Bonus Cricket Bets
Gautam Gambhir has been in sublime form this season and has scored a half-century in each of his 3 outings so far, taking his average for the season to 91.50. Overall in T20s, he has scored a total of 6402 runs at an average of 28.96. Given his solid track record, we are backing him to score over 22.5 runs in this match.
