IND vs AUS Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Oct 20, 2021
It's been just a couple of days since ICC World T20 has commenced, but the tournament has already produced some sensational matches. Scotland's win over Bangladesh well and truly opened up the main event and the warm-ups haven't been quiet either. We saw two crunch matches on Monday - one between India and England and the other one between New Zealand and Australia, with the chasing team emerging on top in both of those.
Up next in the warm-ups, India are set to take on Australia in what will be the last chance for both sides to zero in on their final playing combinations. We expect both these teams to feature a combination closer to the one they'll be playing in their first respective matches in the super-twelve stage.
Australia and India will meet each other at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on 20th October 2021.

IND vs AUS Team Previews
With the experience gained from playing Indian Premier League 2021, India are certainly the hot favorites to win the title and anything less than that will certainly hurt the fans and the management. They did get off to a flying start in the first warm-up fixture, but that also highlighted some of the vulnerabilities that the hosts will want to fix before the main event.
Chasing a total of a tall order, Indians were aggressive right from the outset as KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan both scored at a rapid pace. With contributions right through the order, India eventually chased that total down with significant ease. While Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan both announced their candidature for the wicket-keeper's position, India have more problems to solve.
The form of Virat Kohli has been under the scanner and even though he hasn't been a dead-weight, he has looked far from comfortable, especially in the middle-overs against spin. Also, Suryakumar Yadav played a fantastic knock n his last IPL fixture, but getting some rhythm back in international cricket will be needed considering the position he bats at.
With the ball, India looked a little vulnerable with Bhuvneshwar Kumar conceding runs at the rate of knots at the death overs. We might well see Shardul Thakur getting a chance in this match with Jasprit Bumrah getting much-needed rest. Mohammad Shami, on the other hand, looked decent for a warm-up match. Including Shardul might well address the pace-bowling all-rounder search that India have been doing for so long.
India do have plenty of problems to solve, but none of those problems are glaring. KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan all looked in terrific form and will be difficult to contain. Besides, all of the Indian players will be well-acquainted with the conditions, which could come in handy in this upcoming match. All in all, India have some questions to answer, but even with those questions unanswered, beating India will be a colossal task.
India Playing 11
Rohit Sharma, SA Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Lokesh Rahul, RR Pant, Ishan Kishan, Varun Chakravarthy, Rahul Chahar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, SN Thakur, V Kohli.
Just as we predicted, Australia just managed to edge past the Kiwis in their opening warm-up fixture and they'll be looking to take this momentum in the upcoming matches. This warm-up win was a welcome one for them considering that they were coming into the tournament on the back of a 3-0 loss at the hands of Bangladesh.
Australia started with more or less their full-strength lineup in the first warm-up with Glenn Maxwell and Pat Cummins being the notable absentees. We might well see them both take the field in this upcoming contest, given how important they will be to the Australia campaign in the next round.
Against New Zealand, we did see the likes of Steve Smith, Aaron Finch, and Marcus Stoinis score some runs, but they will be a tad disappointed as none of their top five batsmen managed to go and score big. Another cause of concern for them will be the form of David Warner, who has looked out of sorts for over a year. Australia would want him to get some runs before they play their important matches in the next round.
Although there were a few visible holes on the bowling front for the Aussies in the first match, they wouldn't be too worried yet. Pat Cummins, whenever available, will anyway make their side stronger. Besides, they'll have an additional man to bowl in form of Glenn Maxwell, who can be a wily bowler on his day.
All in all, Australia do have some concerns and they are certainly not a side as strong as they once used to be. Having said that, they still boast of plenty of match-winners in their playing eleven and taking them lightly could prove to be a mistake. If the familiar faces manage to fire for the Aussies, they will be a force to reckon with, not just in the next match, but also in the matches to follow.
Australia Playing 11
Aaron Finch, Steven Smith, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Ashton Agar, Matthew Wade, Pat Cummins, Kane Richardson, Adam Zampa, Mitchell Starc.

IND vs AUS Betting Tips
This may not be an important game from the standings and progression perspectives, but both sides will have plenty to take away from this match. We might well see some changes in the playing elevens of both these sides as compared to their playing eleven in the previous warm-ups. While Australia have plenty of firepower available and are coming off an inspiring win, they do have some points to ponder upon. India, on the other hand, appear to be a more settled unit and have the much-needed recent experience of playing in these conditions. For that reason and the others stated above, betting on an India win should be the way to go here.
