GAW vs TKR Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Sep 24, 2022
We are down to the business end of the tournament in the Caribbean Premier League and each match from here could make a big difference in determining the final playoff occupants. Most teams have just one match to go in the tournament and barring Barbados Royals, no team is safe.
Up next in the tournament, Guyana Amazon Warriors are set to take on Trinbago Knight Riders in what is the contest between the bottom dwellers on the points table. While it is like that currently, it can all change after this match. The match between the two sides is to be played on 24th September 2022 at the Providence Stadium, Guyana.
GAW vs TKR Team Previews
Guyana Amazon Warriors
Guyana Amazon Warriors have had a tournament pretty similar to that of the Knight Riders, but they have the luxury of having one extra match to play with. As a result, even a loss here keeps them in the hunt to qualify for the next round, but they will not want to leave it to that. A win for them, however, will confirm themselves a spot in the playoffs and that is exactly what they'll be aiming for.
On the points table at the moment, they are placed at the fifth position, having scored three wins from eight matches. Thanks to a washout in addition to their wins, they have seven points to their name. Compared to their teams behind them, they have a decent enough net run-rate of -0.230 and a win will only improve it.
The Warriors do not have a side as experienced as that of the Knight Riders but the way they have played together has been impressive. Consistency has been an issue and they will know that. The good thing for them is that they are coming off a couple of back to back wins and will be brimming with confidence. If they are able to play a similar brand of cricket once again, getting past them would be incredibly difficult.

Trinbago Knight Riders
Trinbago Knight Riders were one of the favorites to get into the next round, but the way they have played up until now doesn't really inspire confidence. Despite having the most experienced side on paper, they have blown hot and cold. They started off their campaign in a fantastic manner, registering a win in their first match but could manage only a couple of wins in their next seven.
All is not lost for them though. A win here will likely push them back into the contention and that is what they will be after. As it currently stands on the points table, Trinbago Knight Riders are placed at the bottom of the points table with seven points to their name from nine matches. Not only that, they have a poor net run-rate of -0.730, which may matter if things get tight.
On paper, the Knight Riders have so much power that it's been surprising to see them lose so many matches. They have been lacking execution and team contribution so far. The contributions have come in from big-name players, but they have not fired in unison. They will need to be at their best here and if they can play to their on-paper potential, they will be well in business to not only win this match but also to qualify for the next round.

GAW vs TKR Toss Prediction
This is a high-pressure game and the runs on the board can be important. Having said that, batting second is generally the go-to mantra in the shortest format of the game. Looking at the conditions and the significance of the match, we expect the captain winning the toss to field first.

Pitch and Conditions
It's been raining over the last few days in Guyana and it's forecasted to rain over the next few days as well. Much to the fans' delight though, it is going to be bright and sunny on the match day with temperatures hovering around 29 degrees. It would be humid and fitness will be tested. However, we don't think that the weather conditions would have much impact on the decision at the toss or the game. The pitches and the surface conditions have been pretty sporting in the tournament so far and it is expected to be nothing different this time too. Spinners will have a big role to play in what is going to be a slowish surface. Batsmen once set can play through the line and go for the big ones. A total of around 160 would be about par in this high-pressure game.
GAW vs TKR Betting Tips
Even though this is not a playoff match, this is an all to play for match. A win here will take the winning team to the next round whereas the loss could mean curtains. Both these sides have had a similar kind of tournament so far but with a couple of wins in their last two matches, the Warriors seem to be coming back to form just at the right time. They have a pretty well-balanced side too and can be a dangerous side to deal with. While the Knight Riders have the experience available, we believe that the Warriors have the momentum and that can be invaluable while going into a crunch match. Considering that and the other factors stated above, we would be placing our money on a Guyana Amazon Warriors win and so should you.
