The Vipers had lost both their group-stage fixtures against the Gulf Giants but did manage to beat them in the Qualifier 1 to gain a direct entry in the Finals. They have had a couple of days to rest and will take on the field with renewed energy unlike their opponents, who have endured a hectic week.
Alex Hales has been in superb form for the Vipers, scoring 4 half-centuries and a century for them in 11 innings, and is the leading scorer of the tournament. Sam Billings and Colin Munro have played a couple of good knocks in the middle order but the team will be counting on them to play big innings here.
Sherfane Rutherford has displayed his hard-hitting abilities on more than one occasion this season. Sheldon Cottrell and Tom Curran will once again spearhead the pace attack and both have performed pretty well so far this season.
Curran bowled a brilliant spell in Qualifier 1, picking up 4 wickets, and was instrumental in helping the Vipers make it to the finals. Wanindu Hasaranga has troubled the opposition batsmen with his leg breaks and is the leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets.

Gulf Giants
The Gulf Giants lost just one match during the group stages but did see two of their games get washed away due to bad weather. Nevertheless, they did finish at the top of the table and became the first team to make it to the next stage.
They were defeated by the Vipers in Qualifier 1 and had to face the MI Emirates in Qualifier 2, where a James Vince masterclass saw them chase down a target of 168 with 4 wickets in hand. Earlier in the match, Chris Jordan and David Weise carried on with their brilliant form, picking up 2 wickets each as they remain the top two bowlers of this tournament.
While James Vince remains the mainstay of the Gulf Giants’ batting, he has received good support from Chris Lynn and Shimron Hetmeyer at the top of the order. The middle order, however, appears to be a bit weak as wicketkeeper-batsman Gerhard Erasmus as well as the all-rounders, Colin de Grandhomme and Carlos Brathwaite have failed to create a big impact with the bat.
Brathwaite has however bowled well in the middle overs, keeping a tight line and picking up 5 wickets. While the pace attack of the Giants is one of the best among all teams, they lack a quality spinner in the squad.
