There has been a clear evolution in the manner that CSK has approached its matches when compared to last season. The batsmen have been more willing to take risks and score at a higher strike rate. The focus is less on keeping the wickets intact and more on scoring freely throughout the inning.

It helps that CSK has a deep batting lineup with someone like Shardul Thakur batting at number 9.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis scored runs in the previous match while Moeen Ali has been the enforcer in the middle overs. Suresh Raina has one good inning behind him but it is clear that he is not the same batsman that he was at his peak.

Ambati Rayadu is the player that we think is a bit undervalued right now. He is batting with freedom and is able to get runs quickly no matter what stage he comes in. Still, with Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayadu, and MS Dhoni in the middle-order, opposition teams might see this as a potential weak area that they can attack CSK in.

Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran are responsible for getting the final push. The batting lineup is playing with the right attitude and has the depth to get a decent total in most matches.

CSK’s bowling looks a cut above the rest when Deepak Chahar is firing. He picked up four wickets in the powerplay and is currently second in the race for the Purple Cap. Lungi Ngidi, Sam Curran, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shardul Thakur constitute what is an average bowling attack at best.

It will have some good days but we think a strong batting lineup can really take it apart.

RCB fans must truly believe that their team is one that can win the title this season. There are very few weaknesses in the RCB team right now and with four wins on the trot, the confidence has to be sky high.

Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers were carrying the batting to some extent but in the previous match we saw Devdutt Padikkal score an attacking century and Virat Kohli hit form to get an unbeaten 72 to his name as well.

The only area that RCB has to be careful of is in terms of batting depth. They are essentially playing with four batsmen with Shahbaz Ahmed and Washington Sundar as the other two in the top-6. A couple of early wickets could set the cat among the pigeons.

The bowling has also not been at its best. Yuzvendra Chahal is having a poor IPL and has taken a wicket in just one out of the four matches he has played so far. Mohammad Siraj has been the pick of the RCB bowlers but his death bowling skills can be put under pressure.

Kane Richardson was expensive in his first match and Kyle Jamieson has been just about decent in IPL 2021 so far. The batting is very strong for RCB but the bowling is nothing special.

We don’t think the four wins should cover your eyes to the potential weaknesses in the team. CSK’s aggressive batting approach could put the RCB bowling under more pressure than they are used to.
