COB vs LIO Team Previews

Cape Cobras

With three wins in three matches, Lions are not only at the top of the table but also through to the semis. The battle to qualify now remains between the Cobras and the Warriors and this match could prove to be a dress rehearsal for the Lions.

Lions did well on both fronts in their most recent match as they registered a massive victory over Warriors. The win pushed them to the top of the table and they now have 14 points in three matches with a terrific net run-rate. Having said that, all of that is going to be inconsequential as the Lions have already qualified for the next round.

On paper, the Lions have a terrific unit, the depth of which was apparent in the recently concluded match as well. Chasing a total of 247, the Lions lost a few early wickets, but thanks to their deep batting lineup, they ended up winning the match by six wickets. Dominic Hendricks and Delano Potgieter remained unbeaten till the very end with personal scores of 91 and 96 respectively. With the ball, it was Aaron Phangiso who kept things quiet as well as picked up two important wickets.

All in all, the Lions have all their bases covered. They have played just three matches and almost all of their batsmen have been amongst the runs already. Their bowlers have done a decent job as well. Considering the way they have played thus far, getting past the Lions is going to be a colossal ask for the Cobras.

Lions

The Cobras are currently languishing at the bottom of the points table but it can all change pretty quickly. A win here for them would open the table for a two-way battle between the Warriors and the Cobras. A loss, however, will make things extremely difficult for Cobras as they'd then have to register a win with a bonus point in their subsequent encounter.

Cape Cobras have played two matches so far and were defeated comprehensively in both of those. The struggle of their batting is evident from the fact that in none of the matches did they manage to play out their fifty overs. Their bowlers failed to have any impact on the match as Cobras and Warriors both managed to do well with the bat in their respective matches.

On paper, the Cobras have enough firepower to challenge any domestic side in South Africa cricket. With the likes of Tony de Zorzi, Janneman Malan, and Zubayr Hamza, they have a top-order that is second to none. Having said that, they have lacked execution up until now and if they can fix that, we can see them put up a strong fight going forward.

COB vs LIO Betting Tips

Even though we haven't seen a lot of Cricket being played in this tournament, we have seen enough to evaluate the form and composition of the sides featuring. Cape Cobras have undoubtedly been the worst-performing side up until now and would need a miracle to turn their campaign around. The Lions, on the other hand, will be playing without any pressure, and given the side they have, they will be tough to beat. We are backing the Lions to emerge on top in this upcoming encounter.
