AFG vs PAK Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Mar 27, 2023
Pakistan will be playing to avoid a whitewash as it takes on a spirited Afghanistan for the final match in the 3-match T20 series at Sharjah on Monday.
Afghanistan has already won the series by winning the first two matches, a historic first for them against Pakistan and they will be eager to end the tour on a high.
AFG vs PAK Team Previews
It has been a clinical performance by Afghanistan so far in this tour and captain Rashid Khan couldn’t have asked for a better effort from his teammates.
Mohammad Nabi, who was recalled in the international squad for this tour, is in excellent touch. He has contributed well with the bat and the ball and has played an important part in both wins for the team. The team will once again depend on him to play well here.
The top-order batsmen, including Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, were timing the ball well in the previous match. Given the fact that this is a tricky surface to bat on, the team will hope that at least one of them plays a long inning. Najibullah Zadran is a solid performer in the middle order and played a nice cameo in the previous match to steer Afghanistan to a win in a close chase.
Azmatullah Omarzai and Karim Janat are the two all-rounders adding depth to the batting, while Rashid Khan himself can slog the ball well. Fazalhaq Farooqi was very economical in the last match and was well supported by Naveen ul-Haq and Azmatullah.
As the surface here is a bit slow, Rashid Khan and Mujeeb ur Rahman be the key bowlers for Afghanistan, especially in the middle and death overs.
Afghanistan Playing 11
Usman Ghani, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Sediqullah Atal, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Karim Janat, Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Fareed Ahmad Malik.
Pakistan has been completely outfoxed by its opponents in this series. Playing without some of their star performers including Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, the team lacks the firepower to ignite them at key junctures.
The management has included some of the top PSL performers in the team but they haven’t been able to translate that performance on the international stage. Saim Ayub, who was one of the top scorers for Peshawar Zalmi, has struggled here and so has his partner Mohammad Haris.
The middle order, consisting of Abdullah Shafique, Tayyab Tahir, and Azam Khan has appeared out of depth against the disciplined bowling attack of their opponents. With such a mediocre batting effort of the top and middle order, there will be a lot of pressure on Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan to perform well here.
Naseem Shah, who is spearheading the pace attack in absence of Shaheen Afridi has struggled so far and has been quite expensive so far. However, Ihsanullah, who too is making a debut here, looks quite promising. Mohammad Nawaz was quite economical in the last game but went wicketless in the previous game.
Pakistan Playing 11
Mohammad Haris, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Iftikhar Ahmed, Abdullah Shafique, Tayyab Tahir, Imad Wasim, Ihsanullah, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Zaman Khan.

Pitch and Conditions
The surface at Sharjah for this series is quite different than what we are used to seeing here. It is quite slow and is not too easy to bat on. Anything over 140 will be difficult to chase here. The ball doesn’t come onto the bat and stops on the batsmen. The slower bowlers will get some turn here. The weather is expected to be cloudy with temperatures of between 25-27 degrees Celsius.
AFG vs PAK Betting Tips
While Pakistan started this series as the favorite to win, things are considerably different now. Afghanistan has been brilliant and has applied itself well to put its opponents under the pump. While the odds of Afghanistan winning is a bit longer, we think it is worth risking a wager on them.
Bet on Afghanistan to win.
Bonus Cricket Bets
The opening top order for Pakistan, including Mohammad Haris, Saim Ayub, and Abdullah Shafique have struggled to score in this series. They have failed to read the pitch and as a result, haven’t been able to get going. In the two matches played so far, Pakistan has put up scores of 39 and 35 during the Powerplay. That’s why we are recommending an Under bet here.
